The Astoria Argonauts picked up a win at Capital Grounds, defeating the Albany Firebirds, 4-2. Starting pitcher Ryan Grabowski was an essential part of his team's success. The winner was Grabowski. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Chris Courtney. Allen Justice recorded his 19th save for Astoria.

Astoria used the timely hitting of Marvin Diaz to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Argonauts on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Diaz said his team "played with focus and determination."
