Coal Miners Nipped by Argonauts, 6-5
|
Though he had a stellar game, Chris Bridgeman could not prevent his team, the Antioch Coal Miners, from losing, 6-5, to the Astoria Argonauts. Bridgeman went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Astoria pitcher Jason Evans got the win. He's now 6-4. Marlon Walton was tagged with the loss. Astoria is now 85-76, Antioch 97-64.
Chris Black, who is tied for 7th in the TAAA in triples with 5, helped out the Astoria cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder went 1-2 with 2 walks.
Astoria manager Amin Kinsaka was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
