On Road, Montreal Beats Carrollton, 4-1
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Montreal Cardinals and Carrollton Rangers came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Manny Beato, who is tied for 9th in the TR in complete games with 1, never let the Rangers get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Cardinals to a win, 4-1. Carrollton has now lost 4 in a row.
Alex Najera, who is tied for 6th in the TR in stolen bases with 6, had a direct impact on the outcome. Najera contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Montreal up, 3-1.
"This was a nice win for us," said Najera. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
