The The Stinging Larvae picked up a win at Doubleday Field, downing the Cooperstown Legends, 10-5. On the mound for The Stinging was right-hander Ramon Gomez, who played a pivotal role in the win. The 12-62 Legends have lost 10 consecutive games.

The Stinging used the timely hitting of Ronny Rivas to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Larvae on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Obviously," said Cooperstown manager , "we've hit the skids."
