Islanders Get Clutch Win Versus Normal
The Coronado Islanders finished things off in style.

The Coronado Islanders eked out a 3-2 win versus the Normal Nutcrackers at Barack H. Obama Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Marty Prado. He was terrific. Yukiya Masuda, now 4-1, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Coronado third baseman Alexis Cuevas, facing Jon Turner, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Islanders the 3-2 win.

"We put together a nice win," Cuevas said.

The Islanders saw their win-loss record go to 39-41. At the same time, the Nutcrackers fell to 14-66.
