Yuma Varmits starter Bruce Silva turned in an exceptional performance against the Sedona Sabercats at The Range, resulting in a Yuma win, 5-2. The Varmits upped their record to 40-44.

Dave Metts drew 1 walk for Yuma. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Mario Correa. It was his 71st walk of the season.

When asked about his performance after the game, Silva said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
