The Cooperstown Legends firmly defeated the Yuma Varmits, 15-4, at Doubleday Field. The Cooperstown offense was lit. Jesus Torres, for one, had a solid game. He was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Legends. Cooperstown goes to 60-25, Yuma to 54-31.

Alex Corona went 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Cooperstown. The 20-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a 2-run single off Juan Cruz. It was his 14th hit of the season.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Torres told the Cooperstown Times.
