The home crowd had a good time watching the Paradise Island Pirates and Montreal Cardinals get after it.

The Montreal Cardinals defeated the Paradise Island Pirates, 8-4. Second Baseman Chris Neal deserved a large share of the credit. Neal went 2-3 with a triple and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs for the Cardinals. Montreal reliever Manny Montero picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Danny Corona took the loss. Angel Beltran recorded the save, his 7th.

Tim McCay had a big 2-run double for the Cardinals in the bottom of the first inning. With Montreal trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Corona and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cardinals ahead, 2-1.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said McCay.

Montreal improves to 60-23 with the win. They lead their division by 8 games.
