Almost There: Bighorn On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 1-0 Win
Jim Barnes pitched a gem to help the Bighorn Bison escape with a tight 1-0 victory over the Loachapoka Junebugs in a low-scoring Round 1 contest today. The right-handed Barnes threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Bison on a day when their offense dried up. Bighorn now leads the best-of-7 series 3-1.

Barnes allowed no runs over 7 innings. He also racked up 6 strikeouts.

"Every team in baseball loses," Junebugs manager Dylan Light said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Loachapoka Camp Meeting in Birmingham.
