With 7-6 Win, Mounties Improve to 70-52
The Montreal Mounties did just enough to sneak past the Chicago Eclipse, 7-6, at Mount Royal Grounds. Montreal pitcher Josh Caldwell, in particular, had a standout performance. Caldwell, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 4 runs. Bill Wolfe picked up his 25th save of the season.

The Mounties got a big at-bat from second baseman Cody Jaeger. For the game, Jaeger was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 40th double of the season gave Montreal a 6-4 lead.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Caldwell told the Montreal Times.

The Mounties raised their record to 70-52.
