Butterflies Lose to Marauders, 5-3
|
Maple starter George Hunt pitched well against the Pennsylvania Butterflies at The Kaleidoscope. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. In 7 innings, Hunt surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs. Maple, at 62-63, sits in third place in the Thurman Munson League East Division.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the second. That's when Marauders shortstop Kyle Brown hit a sinker from Sam Haydon for a 2-run single. Just like that, Maple was up, 2-1.
Maple manager Aaron McKenna called it "a darn good win."
