El Paso Dealt 9-8 Defeat
|
The Eagle Rock Ridge Runners defeated the El Paso Mavericks, 9-8, at Ozark Mountain Stadium. Scott Truesdale, who is tied for 4th in the RCL in triples with 5, was a standout performer for Eagle Rock. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. The win went to Brian Clendenny in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jeremy Sims took the loss. Eagle Rock is 4th in the Roberto Clemente League Central Division with a record of 59-65.
Eagle Rock took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 7-7, when Antonio Paiz hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Ridge Runners in front, 8-7.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Paiz told the Eagle Rock Today.
