Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Walnut Creek Warriors and Vancouver Pioneers.
Matt Saxton knocked in 3 runs to help Walnut Creek beat Vancouver, 7-4. Saxton produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Ray Clemens earned the save for Walnut Creek.
Walnut Creek used the timely hitting of Elijah McNeil to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Warriors on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"What we get, we earn," Saxton told the Walnut Creek Gazette.
The Warriors are now 69-55, while the Pioneers fall to 68-57.
