The Chicago Eclipse beat the Havana Stogies, 8-7, in 13 innings, in part because of designated hitter Jason Shannon. He was 2 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Joe Umlah earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 10-3. The Eclipse now own a record of 72-53.

Chicago got a knockout punch from Timothy McAlear. The catcher hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We had a chance to win," said Havana manager Taylor Hillary, "but we didn't get it done."
