Mexico City Grabs 8-2 Road Win
|
Leo Galdamez left his imprint on the 8-2 Mexico City win against the Kansas City Tornadoes. Galdamez, who is on pace for 108 RBI this season, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Duane Alcock, the winner, improved to 9-11. He held the Tornadoes to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Mexico City is in 4th place in the Roberto Clemente League International Division with a record of 58-68.
Mexico City used the timely hitting of Tim Callahan to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Luchadores on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We didn't put our best foot forward tonight," said losing manager Lewis Cannon.
