The Montreal Mounties had to overcome a fine effort from Mexico City pitcher Bob Jordan to win, 5-3, in 12 innings at The Royal Grounds. Jordan went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Montreal reliever Eric Wilkinson picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Dan Wallace took the loss. Montreal goes to 78-54, Mexico City to 60-69.

Jose Quinones came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Mounties manager Thomas Hughes.
