Luchadores Held in Check by Armada, Lose, 6-1
|
The Quebec Armada beat the Mexico City Luchadores by a score of 6-1. Quebec left fielder Adam Rufer deserved the lion's share of the credit. Rufer was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Armada. Mexico City now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
The Armada got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jaden Edwards. For the game, Edwards went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Quebec a 2-0 lead.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Prince Percival Papenfuss told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
