Big Day for Helt as Hornets Down Eclipse, 8-1

Robby Helt knocked in 3 runs to help Eureka beat Chicago, 8-1. Helt produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. David Espinoza earned the win to go to 12-8. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. The first-place Eclipse dropped to 80-55.
Ed Cormack had a big 2-run double for the Hornets in the bottom of the first inning. With Eureka trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Victor Aguilar, who is tied for 5th in the RCL in strikeouts with 152, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 41st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hornets ahead, 2-1.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.
