The Manhattan Slice defeated the Hawaii Honu, 11-7, at Aloha Stadium. Manhattan was led by 29-year old shortstop Joe Douglas, who went 4-5 with 3 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Manhattan reliever Brady Metro got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Joe Fleury was tagged with the loss. Mario Mirabal was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 32 save opportunities.

With Manhattan trailing 7-6 in the top of the ninth, Douglas hit a fastball from Joe Fleury for a 2-run double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Slice ahead, 8-7.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Douglas. "And not try to do too much."

The setback makes Hawaii 51-67.
