Earthquakes, Raines Blast Millers, 14-2
The San Francisco Earthquakes had no problem beating the Milwaukee Millers, 14-2, at Golden Gate Park. Geoff Raines, who finished 2nd in the RCL in on-base percentage with .405 in 2060, led the onslaught. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for San Francisco. Chris Crawford, the winner, improved to 6-7. He held the Millers to 1 run on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Jeff Agin earned save number 3 this season.

Early in the game, Raines had a 3-run home run for San Francisco. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Earthquakes on top, 3-0.

"I wish every win came this easy," said Raines.

San Francisco currently is in last place in the Thurman Munson League West Division at 62-77.
