Ridge Runners Win with Late Heroics
The Eagle Rock Ridge Runners overcame a pretty good performance by Hawaii catcher Paul Cavanaugh, beating the Honu, 9-7, in 10 innings. Cavanaugh went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win was credited to 25-year old left-handed pitcher Bryan Young in relief. His record improves to 4-5. Karl Molnar took the loss. This loss makes it 8 in a row for Hawaii.

Eagle Rock got a knockout punch from Ramon Gomez. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"It was terrific getting this win," Gomez said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
