Blazers Losers, 6-4, Versus Bighorn
|
The Bighorn Bison beat the Bloomington Blazers, 6-4, at Ram Brewery Ballpark. Danny Douglass, who finished 2nd in the RCL in on-base percentage with .383 in 2058, starred for Bighorn. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. David Franco picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 9-10. Andy Johnson earned the save for Bighorn, his 10th of the year.
Had Douglass not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Douglass hit a 2-run single. The Bison took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
Douglass said his team "played with focus and determination."
The Bison, at 71-69, sit in second place in the Thurman Munson League West Division.
