|
The Buffalo Bison beat the San Francisco Earthquakes, 4-3. Buffalo pitcher and Montclair, New Jersey, native Brad Helmick led the way. Helmick, the winner, moves to 15-7. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 5 walks. The Bison saw their win-loss record go to 66-71. At the same time, the Earthquakes fell to 55-82.
Buffalo used a well-timed hit by Connor Gaudet to capture the win. The first baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bison ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
San Francisco manager Zayar Adelabu said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
