Earthquakes Suffer 9-6 Home Loss
The Vancouver Pioneers powered past the San Francisco Earthquakes, 9-6, at Golden Gate Park. Luis Gallardo provided some of the pop. Grits was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Willie Arredondo got credit for the save for Vancouver. It was his 35th of the year. Vancouver bumps their record to 66-53 with the win.

With Vancouver trailing 2-1 in the top of the second, Gallardo hit a cutter from Roberto Arriola for a grand slam home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Pioneers ahead, 5-2.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Gallardo told the Vancouver Herald. "But we take nothing for granted."
