7-6 Loss to Luchadores Extends Cabo San Lucas Losing Streak
The Mexico City Luchadores defeated the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 7-6, at The Royal Grounds. Rich Van Fleet, who finished 5th in the RCL in wins above replacement with 4.2 last year, was a standout performer for Mexico City. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Ray Heck converted his 28th save in 37 tries. Cabo San Lucas has now lost 6 consecutive games.

Van Fleet had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 changeup from B.J. Bichler, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Luchadores a 7-6 lead. It was the 26th double of the year for Van Fleet.
