Riding the 4-hit performance of the former first round draft pick Brian Carr, the Eureka Hornets stopped the Kansas City Tornadoes, 8-2, in 9 innings. Bobby Loscalzo, who finished 4th in the TML in wins with 15 last year, was the winner. He's now 14-7. The loser was Monty Brewster. Eureka, at 88-53, is 6 games up in the Roberto Clemente League Central Division.

With Eureka leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Carr hit a changeup from Monty Brewster for a 3-run home run. It was his 30th home run of the season and put the Hornets ahead, 5-0.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Carr told the Eureka Daily News.
