Mexico City took on Montreal in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Duane Alcock, in particular, was fantastic. The Mexico City left-hander helped his team snag the win, 2-1. Dan Wallace got credit for the save for Mexico City. It was his 1st of the year. The Luchadores raised their record to 2-0.

Mexico City starter Duane Alcock was exceptional. The 6-foot-5 left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 8 innings of work.

"Runs were at a premium," said Mexico City manager Tewolde Ojo.
