Arson Arena was the site for Thurman Munson League action featuring the Bloomington Blazers and Eureka Hornets.

Eureka starter Jim Rankin kept the Bloomington offense from doing much damage. The left-hander leaned on his sinker in leading the Hornets to a 7-1 win. Dan Burk locked down his 2nd save.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ed Cormack? The Eureka left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hornets on top, 4-0. For the game, Cormack had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Jim was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.

The second-place Hornets bumped their record to 69-54.
