The Chicago Eclipse defeated the Mexico City Luchadores, 5-1, at Millennium Field. Jalen Nelloms was a standout performer for Chicago. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 3 runs he scored and 1 he knocked in. Thor Odinson earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts in 8.1 innings of work. Jerry Bamberg picked up the save for Chicago, his 34th of the year.

Brad Davidson had a big run-scoring double for the Eclipse in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Duane Alcock and swatted a double to right. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Eclipse ahead, 3-1.

Davidson attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Eclipse.
