J.R. Hepner, who finished 5th in the RCL in ERA with 2.53 in 2052, was locked in. The left-hander led the Asheville Moonshiners to a 4-3 win against the Manhattan Slice at The Still. With the win, the Moonshiners improved to 55-69.

Had Jake Haight not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Haight hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Moonshiners.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Manhattan manager Giampaolo Marcovicci. "The effort was great."
