Sawyer Helps Texans Defeat Jazz, 11-5
The Dallas Texans topped the West Island Jazz, 11-5, at Metroplex Park. Dallas center fielder Chris Sawyer was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Dallas starter Victor Lara was credited with the win after throwing 118 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 10-12. Chris Bagley was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

The Texans got a big hit from third baseman Leandro Beno. Facing West Island pitcher John Finn in the bottom of the eighth, Beno pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season put the Texans ahead, 11-5.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Beno told the Dallas Bulletin.
