Warriors Topple Bison, 7-4, as McArdle Shines
The Walnut Creek Warriors topped the Bighorn Bison, 7-4, with first baseman Kevin McArdle playing a big role. McArdle was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Warriors in the win. The winner in relief was Xavier Capetillo. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. The Warriors saw their win-loss record go to 80-66. At the same time, the Bison fell to 76-70.

Johnny Roark had a big bases-clearing double for the Warriors in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Walnut Creek leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 34-year old left-handed pitcher Tony Leija and swatted a double to left. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Warriors ahead, 5-1.

"Solid performance from our side," said Warriors manager Armando Medina.
