Toreros Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros withstood a fine game by Havana first baseman Art Fox at The Humidor, to upend the Stogies, 4-3. Fox went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Ricky Pimentel, who is tied for 3rd in the RCL in holds with 11, was the winner in relief. His record is now 7-3. The losing pitcher was Ben Benson. Earning his 27th save of the year was Andy Carr.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mark Launay? The 24-year old left fielder Launay stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Cabo San Lucas up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"It was a good effort all around," said Launay.
The Toreros have now won 4 straight.
