In Extras, Earthquakes Beat Butterflies
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the San Francisco Earthquakes and the Pennsylvania Butterflies, former first round draft pick Jamie Clark was the difference-maker. The San Francisco left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 11 innings. The winner in relief was Cameron Whiteside. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-0. San Francisco is now 74-76, while Pennsylvania is 64-86.
The decisive blow was delivered by Dylan Robertson in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing right-hander Matt York to win the game for San Francisco. The home crowd went nuts.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Robertson said, postgame.
