Walnut Creek beat Bloomington at Castlerock Field, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to third baseman Miguel Lopez. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. David Godinez, who finished 4th in the RCL in strikeouts with 158 in 2063, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 1 strikeout. The second-place Warriors improved to 83-67.
The Warriors got a big at-bat from designated hitter David Surrett. For the game, Surrett went 1 for 2 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Walnut Creek a 4-3 lead.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Lopez told the Walnut Creek Gazette.
