The Hawaii Honu, behind a great outing from Jose Medrano defeated the Maple Marauders, 3-1, at Aloha Stadium. Medrano, now 11-7, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Karl Molnar closed it out for Hawaii, earning his 32nd save.

Matt White was 1-3 with a walk for Hawaii. The 26-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Josh Hall. It was his 9th walk of the season.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Medrano. "Successful pitchers do it."

The Honu now have a mark of 74-78.
