The Montreal Mounties topped the Eureka Hornets, 6-3, with youngster Pat McDaniel playing a key role. McDaniel went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Mounties in the win. Owen Stegemann was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 10 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts. Bill Wolfe got the save, the 41st for him this season.

Cody Jaeger came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Jaeger attributed the win to his team's "determination."
