Eureka Hangs 5-3 Loss on Chicago
|
Led by Ed Cormack, the Eureka Hornets downed the Chicago Eclipse, 5-3. Cormack was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hornets. Matt Acrey earned the save for Eureka, his 4th of the year. Chicago now has a record of 9-8.
Cormack had a timely hit for Eureka in the bottom of the seventh. With Eureka trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch screwball into a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 3-2, Eureka.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Cormack told the Eureka News.
