Montreal beat Bloomington at Stade Claude Raymond, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Tony Greene. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The 5th-place Jazz have a record of 64-67.

Montreal took a 5-4 lead on Randy Daly's 22nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Daly hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Bloomington pitcher Jarrod Banta visibly frustrated.

"Both teams played hard," said Montreal manager Pedro Gonzáles.
