Griffin Belts Bunch of Base Hits
|
No matter what the Dallas Texans threw at him, Matt Griffin hit it. He easily handled Texans pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Mavericks triumph, 6-3, at Metroplex Park.
"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Griffin's quip, Texans skipper Lester Burrow said he "would take him up on that next time."
Matt Griffin doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
So far this year, Griffin is batting .337 with 21 home runs, 97 RBIs and 84 runs scored.
