Eclipse Absorb 3-2 Home Loss
|
The Eureka Hornets called upon starter Harley Lowrie, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Chicago Eclipse, 3-2. Lowrie picked up the win for Eureka, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 15-9. Matt Acrey, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 29th save.
Eureka used a clutch at-bat from Brian Carr to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Hornets ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Harley gave us a heck of an effort," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.
The first-place Hornets now have a record of 94-60.
