The Manhattan Slice could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Tom Simmons into a win. Instead, the Bighorn Bison prevailed, 6-5. Simmons threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Eric Steinbach earned the save, his 18th, for the Bison. The Bison raised their record to 74-60.

Bighorn took a 6-5 lead on Malcolm Johnson's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Johnson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Manhattan pitcher Dusty Fitzsimmons visibly frustrated.

"We found a way to get it done," Johnson said.
