Chicago Absorbs 5-3 Loss to Dallas
|
The Dallas Texans spoiled a good performance by Chicago shortstop Larry Gilliland, bumping off Chicago, 5-3, at Millennium Field. Gilliland was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Chris Nugent was credited with the save for Dallas, his 32nd of the season. With this game in the books, Dallas is 70-86, Chicago 86-70.
Vince Harris had a big 2-run double for the Texans in the top of the fourth inning. With Dallas leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Aguilar and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 43rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Texans ahead, 4-1.
