Eureka Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
The Chicago Eclipse downed the Eureka Hornets, 5-1, at Millennium Field. Stellar pitching by Joe McKnight had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. In 7.2 innings, McKnight surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Chicago is now 89-70, Eureka 88-71.

The Eclipse got a big at-bat from designated hitter Larry Gilliland. For the game, Gilliland was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
