Armada Earn Late 4-3 Win
|
In a tight contest at Millennium Field, the Quebec Armada edged the Chicago Eclipse by the score of 4-3. Quebec shortstop Fernando Puente, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Mike Cornwell claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 4-2. Quebec raised its record to 80-58 with the win.
Quebec used the timely hitting of John Bramante to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Armada on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Bramante told the Quebec Bulletin.
