Phillips Shuts the Door on Buffalo, Records 300th Save.
"I tried to approach this game like it was just another day, but when I walked out there on the mound, it was different," said Milwaukee star reliever Jason Phillips. "I'm supposed to have ice water in my veins, but not today. It felt like my first day on the mound in my rookie season."

It certainly was different. Phillips was about to try for his milestone 300-th career save and put his name in the record book.

As he has endless times before, Phillips rose to the occasion and disposed of the Buffalo Bison to save the Millers 6-5 victory, allowing no runs and 1 hit in 1 innings of work.

In his career, Phillips has put up a 2.87 ERA and fanned 551 hitters in 584 innings. His career record stands at 44-46 with 300 saves.
