The Albuquerque Cacti put one in the win column with an opening day 5-3 triumph over the Calgary Cowboys in 10 innings. The crowd at Albuquerque Sports Stadium watched Sam Godfrey put on a fine performance. Albuquerque reliever Danny Chase snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chris Campbell shouldered the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ryan Catalano in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Campbell to win the game for Albuquerque. The home crowd went nuts.

"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Godfrey.
