The Memphis Privateers overcame a good performance by Baton Rouge designated hitter Ross Thambo to knock off Baton Rouge, 9-8, at Privateers Grounds. Thambo went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Memphis is now 3-0.

Memphis took the lead, 9-8, on Jorge Duran's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Baton Rouge pitcher Jesse Bates in the bottom of the eighth.

"We've got great fans," said Duran. "I hope they got what they came for."
