Starting pitcher Joey Anderson was a major factor in the 3-2 Fort Worth Cats triumph over the Thunder Bay Black Bears. The winner was Fort Worth reliever Nick Loyd, now 1-1. The loser was Nathan Al-Assel. With the win, Fort Worth improves its record to 3-2.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Fort Worth. That's when Brett McDaniel hit a run-scoring double off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Nathan Al-Assel to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," McDaniel said in his postgame press conference.
