Tallahassee second baseman Shane Burt had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-8, to Amarillo in 10 innings. Burt went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Alan Williams snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. The loss drops the Tallahassee record to a disappointing 3-7.

Mike Barnett came through with a big-time hit for Amarillo. The second baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 9-8. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Tyler Bulman.
